The Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG) has signed Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) with three tertiary medical institutions across the country to complete the second phase of its multi-billion-naira Hospital Support Programme (NLNG HSP).

The institutions are the Federal Medical Centre Asaba, Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, Bauchi, and Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital, Nnewi.

The move, NLNG said in a statement, is part of efforts to deepen the improvement of healthcare infrastructure and services across Nigeria.

It said the MOU, signed by the Medical Directors of these institutions, will facilitate the renovation and equipping of neonatal wards and the Intensive Care Unit at the Federal Medical Centre, Asaba; construction and equipping of a comprehensive laboratory complex at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, Bauchi; and the renovation and construction of an oxygen plant at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital, Nnewi.

The NLNG HSP, which commenced in 2022, is aimed to bolster healthcare delivery systems and enhance medical training across 12 Federal University Teaching Hospitals spanning Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones.
