It was happen-chance that I found Cameron’s Pub, Restaurant, and Inn in Half Moon Bay while on a work trip, and I couldn’t be happier that I stumbled in. A few minutes from Half Moon Bay is a bright red double-decker bus inviting you for a pint or a drink.

Interview with Cameron, Founder of the Pub

I was lucky enough to visit when Cameron was working. Check out our full interview with him here:

The Atmosphere

Cameron’s Restaurant is a true English pub that has been serving customers for over 30 years. You can admire the double-decker bus and a dog-friendly patio with outdoor seating resembling a beer hall. There are signs all over the restaurant and inn inviting you inside for a pint.

Once you walk inside is like walking right into a true English pub in the countryside of England, complete with a hearty welcome. The decor is what makes for the pub atmosphere. The walls are filled with cans collected from all over the world.

And, everywhere you look, there is an image of a famous British Royal or celebrity. There are china plates, posters, figurines, clocks . . . you name it, they have it! Cameron’s even has an English shop filled with traditional British food like pasties, bangers, and shepherd’s pie for you to take home.

The full bar boasts famous beer from the United Kingdom, like Fuller’s London Pride, which I ordered immediately. The main bar has cozy seats and standing room. The restaurant rooms (yes, there are several) have cozy nooks and crannies to enjoy your meal or a beer.

On the weekends, there is live music and karaoke, which truly provides the atmosphere of an English pub. There will be much fun in the evening on Friday and Saturday.

History of Cameron’s Pub & Restaurant

We were fortunate to meet with the owner, Cameron, who told us about the British pub and inn. Cameron’s family is from the UK. Once they moved to California, his father said a true British pub was missing.

So Cameron took the good advice, found the current building, and thought the architecture looked like a pub inn. Now it’s THE go-to place in Half Moon Bay for a proper pint and one of the best places to visit in Half Moon Bay.

Cameron opened the pub and restaurant and began collecting English trinkets to fill the restaurant inn. His beer can collection today consists of over 4,000 cans!

Cameron’s Pub Menu

The menu is full of great pub grub. They have seafood, pizza, nachos, pasties, lobster bake, seafood platter, and burgers. That’s not even including the pub snacks or fish and chips! They are open for brunch time on the weekends, lunch, and dinner. You can have every meal here!

There is also a kids’ menu with a meal for every taste. You can sit inside at a cozy table to look at all the trinkets or step outside to the dog-friendly patio to enjoy your meal. The patio is great in the summer or even on a rainy day since it is covered.

But let’s talk about the bar at Cameron’s. The full bar has around 20 delicious beers on tap and nearly 70 bottles for each alphabet letter.

The restaurant and patio are open daily, with a happy hour from 3-6 p.m. So pop in and enjoy a famous beer from England and good food! Don’t worry about reservations. They will make room for you!

Events at Cameron’s Pub

Cameron’s Restaurant has a lot of events every week. There is live music, karaoke, and trivia. Karaoke is every weekend night and is pretty famous among the locals and exclusive guests of The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay. Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter) performed here one night!

Trivia Tuesdays are for the competitive bunch. For those looking for less competition, there is weekly cribbage on Thursdays. And daily food specials also make for a treat.

The pub also has watch parties for soccer matches, rugby, and royal events like the most recent coronation of King Charles and Queen Elizabeth’s funeral.

Staying at the Inn

Cameron’s Restaurant Pub Inn is known for more than great food and pub stories. The inn is a great place to stay for first-timers who want a true British experience. The rooms are decorated like traditional English countryside homes.

The inn has limited rooms. If they are fully booked, you can also park your RV on the land nearby. It’s the perfect spot to stay, and you can easily walk to the pub for dinner and drinks and then walk right home!

Location of Cameron’s Restaurant Pub Inn

Kyle Kroeger / ViaTravelers

The restaurant and inn are just a few minutes outside downtown Half Moon Bay. You can’t miss the pub. It’s right off the highway from Half Moon Bay to The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay.

Many parking options exist for cars, motorcycles, bikes, and RVs. They even have a campground where you can park your RV and stay a while!

The inn is a great place to stay, too. The location is perfect for exploring the beaches and Half Moon Bay since it is a short drive from Poplar Beach (you could walk, too). Famous restaurants like Sam’s Chowder House and Moss Beach Distillery are nearby. And it is only about an hour from San Francisco.
