Foreign exchange dealers in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, under the auspices of the Association of Bureau De Change (BDC) Operators, have announced a shutdown of their operations with effect from today, Thursday, February 1, 2024.

The Chairman of the Abuja branch of the association , Mallam Abdulahi Dauran, while announcing the shutdown on Wednesday, blamed the decision on the scarcity of dollars that had grounded their operations.

He said online banking transactions and cryptocurrency were behind the scarcity of dollars.
