Delta has resumed flights to London Gatwick
(LGW) after a 15-year hiatus.
The resumption of flights between New York – JFK
and LGW coincides with the airline’s 45th anniversary of serving
the UK-US market.
Flight DL198 is scheduled to depart from JFK at
23:35, arriving at London Gatwick at 12:00 the following day. The return
leg, DL199, is slated to leave LGW at 14:10 and arrive back at JFK
at 17:00.
“Delta started flying to the UK 45 years ago this
month at Gatwick and so it is fitting that we are restarting our
operations from Gatwick to the United States,” said Nicolas Ferri,
Delta’s Vice President – Europe, Middle East, Africa and India. “On
board, customers will discover an elevated service and special
touches to make their journey memorable.”
Delta is operating the daily flights with recently refurbished Boeing 767-300 aircraft.
Customers in every cabin can enjoy
seat-back screens featuring hours of complimentary premium
entertainment via Delta Studio, in-seat power, high-speed Wi-Fi
is currently available to purchase, with free Wi-Fi expected to be
available by the end of 2024. A free
mobile messaging service via iMessage, WhatsApp and Facebook
Messenger is also available.

All flights between UK and the US will be operated in cooperation
with Delta’s joint venture partners Virgin Atlantic, Air France
and KLM.
