“Vietnam is a critical market for Wyndham in the region and plays
an integral role in our global growth strategy. We see
tremendous opportunities in emerging destinations like Phu Quoc, which in just a few years, has quickly become one of the
country’s premier tourist spots,” said Ben Schumacher, Vice President of Operations South
East Asia & Pacific Rim, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts.
Vietnam welcomed 2.69 million
international tourists in the first quarter of 2023,
surpassing a third of the country’s target of 8 million by the end
of this year, according to the General Statistics Office of
Vietnam.
Contributing in part to Phu Quoc’s
booming tourism sector is the welcoming visa policy which
exempts foreigners from entry, exit and transit visas for up to 30
days.
