When fearsome Norwegian Vikings landed on the south-eastern coast of Ireland in the year 914 AD, they probably imagined a finer legacy for themselves than impressing little boys in the year 2024.

But as any weary parent who has navigated their family through a historical attraction knows well, a small child’s respect isn’t easily won.
