Moscow unleashed a barrage of missiles at Ukraine even as the renegade Wagner mercenary group staged a rebellion against the Russian military.

Russian missiles struck five regions across the country, including those of Kyiv and Kharkiv, Ukrainian Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko said on social media. In Kyiv, the missiles hit a 24-story residential building in the Solomyansky district, he said. Three people were killed and another eight injured.

“Night shelling of civilians is the style of terrorists. Russian style,” Klymenko said in a post on Telegram.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko wrote on Telegram around 9 a.m. local time that search and rescue efforts were still ongoing at the stricken apartment building.

In a video posted to Telegram, Klitschko can be seen wading through the rubble while emergency personnel search through the destroyed building. Pictures show a gaping hole in the side where the rocket hit.

The attack came as Wagner boss Yevgeny Prigozhin declared war on Russian military leadership. Wagner forces claimed control of the strategic Russian city Rostov-on-Don.
