“Such boorish statements from the mouth of the head of state of the United States are unlikely to hurt the head of another state, especially President Putin,” he said, Russian media reported. “But it is a huge disgrace for the country itself.”
“It is clear that Mr. Biden demonstrates behavior in the style of a Hollywood cowboy for the sake of domestic political interests,” Peskov added.
Peskov claimed that Putin never makes insulting statements toward Biden. “If the president of such a country uses such language, it should be shameful,” he said.
During a recent interview, Putin said he can’t remember the last time he spoke with the U.S. president, adding that it was sometime before Russia’s February 2022 full-scale invasion of Ukraine. On the other hand, he pointed out that he had a “personal relationship” with Biden’s predecessor Donald Trump.
Biden has not held back in expressing his criticism of Putin since Russia invaded Ukraine two years ago.
