Eurostat has released the 2024 edition of the interactive publication Housing in Europe,  offering statistical insights into housing trends and challenges across Europe.

The publication consolidates data on various aspects of housing, including types, ownership, size, quality and environmental impact, while also exploring housing costs and developments in the construction sector.

Did you know that in 2023, 52% of the EU population lived in houses, while 48% resided in flats? Or that just 3% of land across Europe is used for residential purposes? Were you aware that 17% of people lived in overcrowded homes, and that house prices increased by 48% between 2010 and 2023?
