Hong Kong Airlines has launched direct flights
between Hong Kong (HKG) and Fukuoka (FUK), Japan.

The airline will operate the service with four
flights per week using
Airbus A320 aircraft.

Upon
arrival at Fukuoka Airport, Hong Kong Airlines’ inaugural flight
was greeted by a traditional water cannon salute. Representatives from
the airport, Fukuoka Prefecture and
Kyushu Tourism Organisation also welcomed the passengers, flight
crew and representatives from Hong Kong Airlines.

“Hong
Kong Airlines is immensely proud to add this new route to its
recovering network,” said Jeff Sun, President, Hong Kong Airlines.
“Fukuoka serves as an important gateway to
Kyushu and launching this service will pave the road to enhancing
our promising future operations in the area.”

With the addition of the flights to
Fukuoka, Hong Kong Airlines currently operates five destinations
in Japan, including twice-daily flights to Osaka and Tokyo
(Narita), daily service to Okinawa, and thrice weekly flights
to Sapporo.

Furthermore, the company will begin double daily flights to Okinawa from May, and thrice daily to Tokyo
(Narita) from June.

The airline also has plans to
resume flights to Kagoshima later this year, further strengthening its
presence in the Kyushu region.
