9mobile invests over N70bn on network modernization, plans 600 new sites – Business Traffic

Date:

Telecommunications company, 9mobile, on Tuesday said it has invested over N70 billion on its ongoing network modernisation.

The company made this known during its annual Channel Partners Conference held recently in Lagos.

A statement quoted the Chief Executive Officer of 9mobile, Juergen Peschel, as saying that additional 600 new sites, equipped with 4G LTE facilities would be deployed alongside the new broadband services to enlarge its fibre network across some Nigerian cities.

Peschel said this became necessary to enhance operations and market competitiveness.

He said this would be done among other technical, digital, and organisational upgrade to demonstrate 9mobile’s core values of innovation, quality of service, and customer-centricity.

Peschel said that the company was on the path of a resurgence following the enormous investments into its network operations and a strong commitment by the board and management to aggressively reclaim market share

He said: “9mobile is on the path of resurgence. We are taking back lost territories in the market and forging ahead to reclaim our innovative position and industry leadership.

“The years ahead are promising when you consider the level of expansion we are embarking on.”

Also, the Chief Sales Officer at 9mobile, Victor Nwaobia, emphasised that the impact of the unique relationship the company had enjoyed with its committed channel partners, drove its growth over the years.

“That we have sustained or retained almost 75 per cent of our channel partners over the years is a massive testament and commitment for our business, which is in its fifteenth year and going strong,” Nwaobia said.
