Vietnam Airlines has confirmed that it will
launch flights to Mumbai, India from both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh
(Saigon).
Scheduled for take off on 20 May 2023, the airline
will operate 4 flights per week on the Hanoi (HAN) – Mumbai (BOM) route,
departing on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.
Flight VN973 is timed to leave Hanoi at 18:10 and
arrive in Mumbai at 21:35. Flight VN972 is slated to leave Mumbai
at 23:10 and arrive in Hanoi at 05:30 the following day.
Thrice weekly flights – on Mondays, Wednesdays and
Fridays – between Ho Chi Minh (SGN) and Mumbai (BOM) will commence
on 22 May 2023.
Flight VN979 is slated to depart Saigon at 17:55
and arrive in Mumbai at 21:35. Flight VN978 is scheduled to depart
Mumbai at 23:10 and arrive back in Saigon at 06:00 the following
day.
Vietnam Airlines will operate both routes with Airbus A321
aircraft.
Mumbai is the
capital city of the Indian state of Maharashtra and the
second-most populous city in India, followed by New Delhi.
The city boasts plenty of tourist and cultural
attractions such as the UNESCO World Heritage
Site the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, the Gateway of India and
the Asiatic Society.
In June 2022, the national carrier introduced non-stop services
connecting Vietnam and India’s capital – New Delhi and in March 2023 increased the frequency of
flights between Hanoi and New Delhi to 4
flights each week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
Thrice weekly flights between
Ho Chi Minh and New Delhi take off on Tuesdays, Thursdays and
Saturdays.
To celebrate the launch of HAN-BOM and SGN-BOM
services, Vietnam Airlines is offering special fares from 22,972
INR (taxes and fees included) until the end of 28 May 2023 for flights between Mumbai and
Hanoi / Ho Chi Minh.
