  • UK PM Rishi Sunak asked homeless man if he “works in business”

The UK’s Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, was branded “disconnected” from ordinary people when he engaged in a conversation with a homeless man at the Passage On Friday shelter in London, local sources reported on Friday.

In a video widely published on social media, the prime minister is seen asking the homeless man, named Dean, whether he “worked in business” and wanted to get a job in the industry.

“Do you work in business?” Sunak is heard asking.

“No, I’m homeless. I’m actually a homeless person,” Dean replied.

Angela Rayner, deputy leader of the opposition Labour Party, who also happened to have posted the video on her Twitter account, called the exchange “excruciating.”

Another Labour MP, Bill Esterson, called the Prime Minister “out of touch”.

Sunak once worked as a junior analyst at Goldman Sachs in London and is one of Britain’s wealthiest people.

He is also recognized as the richest person to have ever resided in No.10 Downing Street.
