Training on Teaching Entrepreneurship

The entreTime project, an EU initiative under the COSME programme, invites educators from all disciplines who are interested in learning how to teach through entrepreneurship and foster an entrepreneurial mind-set in their students to take part in its training on Teaching Entrepreneurship.

The overall objective of this course is to provide the learners with a background on entrepreneurship and about the EntreComp framework, and to teach them what an entrepreneurial mind-set is. Learners are also introduced to a framework that helps them address challenges and make decisions. Participants are familiarised with systems thinking and its implications and are presented with the need for continuous innovation. The course also provides a background on responsible entrepreneurship and presents coaching as a way of aligning students to be able to achieve optimal results.

The course is self-paced and open to everyone curious in learning more about how to integrate entrepreneurship and innovation into their classroom. It helps with educators’ professional and personal development, by acquiring practical life skills. They also learn to understand the value of entrepreneurial competences and most importantly, they help establish an entrepreneurial spirit among students.

The course is structured in seven modules and always consists of a collection of short videos, an e-book, a micro-challenge and a final quiz to test the participant’s knowledge of the content. The quiz as all other pedagogical materials should ensure a comprehensive yet independent learning style.

With an integrated forum function, participants of the course can exchange their thoughts, experiences and questions with other learners.

The course is free of charge and open to everyone.

Background on the project

The objective of the entreTime project is to strengthen the understanding of entrepreneurship and address the need for entrepreneurship in higher education like universities. It follows the philosophy of “teaching through entrepreneurship”. In short, it describes why entrepreneurship is important not only for companies, but for any active citizen regardless of their background. Its objective is primarily to strengthen the understanding of and address the need for entrepreneurship in higher education and to awaken the entrepreneurial mind-set of educators. Their competencies are developed based on the Entrepreneurship Competence Framework (EntreComp).
