Marriott has expanded its portfolio of St. Regis
hotels with the opening of a resort in Mexico.

Owned by Grupo Alhel, The St. Regis Kanai Resort,
Riviera Maya neighbors the 620-acre Sian Ka’an Reserve, an UNESCO
World Heritage Site, and is a short drive from both Cancun and
Playa Del Carmen.

“Kanai is a vibrant oasis yet to be discovered by
many global travelers, but with its striking natural surroundings,
rich cultural history and inherent connection to the land it is
set to take its place among the world’s most coveted leisure
destinations,” said George Fleck, Vice President and Global Brand
Leader for St. Regis Hotels & Resorts.

Designed by Mexican architectural firm Edmonds International with
interiors by Chapi Chapo Design, the resort features a circular exterior design inspired by the constellation
Pleiades and resulting in ocean views from nearly every
vantage point.

Designed with a minimal construction footprint
aimed at protecting the natural reserve, The St. Regis Kanai
Resort, Riviera Maya is suspended above a mangrove forest with the
different elements of the hotel connected by elevated walkways.

Guests arriving at the resort are immediately
immersed into the magic of
Kanai with a multi-storey open air water installation leading into
the main lobby. Floor-to-ceiling panoramic views of the mangroves
give way to lush gardens and an expansive outdoor lawn with direct
access to 2 miles of undisturbed white sand beach.

The St. Regis Kanai Resort, Riviera Maya has
124 guestrooms and 19 suites, including a 2,300
sq. ft. Presidential Suite. Each offers mesmerizing ocean views
and a private terrace or plunge pool.

Guestrooms feature custom hanging mirrors, bedside
tables, ceramic light pendants, and intricate walnut wood-carved
headboards.

Facilities at the luxury resort include a variety
of F&B outlets, a spa with eight treatment suites and a
standalone salon, a fitness centre with a range of cardio and
strength equipment as well as an outdoor yoga platform, a beach
club, children’s club, adult and family swimming pools,  and over 50,000 sq. ft.
of indoor and outdoor event space.

“We look forward to offering guests exceptional
experiences that are a reflection of both the history of the
destination and the celebrated traditions and rituals of St.
Regis,” said David Cayuela, Multi Property General Manager, The
St. Regis Kanai Resort, Riviera Maya. “The St. Regis Kanai Resort,
Riviera Maya will provide our guests with a sense of exquisite
ease, enlivened by the brand’s signature Butler Service, which is
purposefully tailored for each of our global luminaries.”
