The epicenter was located 325.1 km (202 miles) W of Adak, U.S., and 1 265.6 km (786.4 miles) ESE of Klyuchi, Russia.
A tsunami is not expected, NWS National Tsunami Warning Center said.
The USGS issued a Green alert for shaking-related fatalities and economic losses. There is a low likelihood of casualties and damage.
