The iPhone StandBy mode has been shown off by Apple as a feature that users will be able to take advantage of when iOS 17 is launched later this year. The feature works by allowing the smartphone to display the time, date, photos and even widgets when positioned on a MagSafe charging stand that users can easily see from afar. This will transform the smartphone into a smart information station that will keep the user in touch with important updates when the device isn’t within reach.
The iPhone StandBy mode will also prioritize power efficiency by taking advantage of the smartphone’s low power display functionality. This will ensure the smartphone continues charging quickly, even when information is cycling on the display.
