Qatar Airways, the national carrier of Qatar and seven-time award-winning airline, hosted a special Iftar dinner on Thursday, April 4, 2023 at the Lagos Continental Hotel in Lagos, Nigeria.

The exclusive event, which celebrated the essence of Ramadan and broke the fast with Muslim faithfuls on a chosen day in the Holy month of Ramadan, the Iftar was attended by a selected group of media personalities.

The Iftar dinner presented an opportunity for the airline to connect with its guests and media partners in Nigeria, while also reiterating the organisation’s commitment to deliver exceptional customer experiences and create lasting memories for its customers in Nigeria.

The evening kicked off with a welcome speech from Ken Chirchir, the Nigeria Country Manager, Qatar Airways, who expressed his delight and highlighted the global airline’s achievements in Nigeria and on the African continent. The African market is among the fastest growing aviation markets and has contributed to our success as a global aviation company. It brings us great joy to deliver this iftar experience to our clients and partners in Africa, and Nigeria is one of the African markets where we are breaking the fast with our well-wishers in the month of April.”

Guests were, then, treated to a sumptuous Iftar buffet, featuring a range of traditional middle-eastern and Nigerian delicacies, all prepared with love from special Ramadan recipes. The Iftar dinner was attended by several high-profile guests, including representatives from top Nigerian media houses, as well as members of the local Muslim community.

Qatar Airways’ is committed to taking up a leading role in connecting Africa, promoting its social, economic and political integration and boosting intra-Africa trade and tourism. This commitment is one that the airline giant has continued to echo in recent times – proven by the expansion of its daily flight schedule to Lagos and Abuja, and the launch of four weekly flights to Kano and three to Port Harcourt, in the previous year.
