Rode introduces its latest iteration of the Rode NT1, which is now dubbed the MK5 microphone and this marks the fifth iteration. It is highlighted by two key updates that apply to podcasters and vocalists as it is podcast-friendly due to the 32-bit float recording and USB connectivity.
The connective new feature is perfect as microphones are often XLR only and USBs are normally found with desktop microphones. The new version is able to have both and the USB is seen at the base of the existing XLR port. The most impressive is the aforementioned 32-bit float recording capability as it allows for a much large dynamic range than the usual 16-bit or 24-bit found in most systems.
