The Nigeria Customs Service Training College, Ikeja and the Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre (NAFRC) Oshodi, Lagos, on Friday, 15 March 2024, embarked on a joint initiative to enhance the skills and knowledge of officers and personnel from both institutions.

During a courtesy visit led by the Commandant of the Training College to NAFRC, DC Haniel Hadison, he stated that the partnership’s objective is a means of collaborative efforts in capacity building.

DC Hadison emphasised the significance of synergy between the Customs Training College and the Armed Forces Resettlement Centre in equipping personnel with the requisite expertise for their respective roles.

“Nobody is an Island, collaboration adds value to existing knowledge and resources. I can boldly say that the knowledge I gathered through my Entrepreneurial and Management training for Senior and Mid Level Officers cannot be overemphasised. This formed the initiative of today’s courtesy visit so that the college can also benefit from such knowledge,” he said.

He stressed the importance of continuous learning to adapt to the evolving security landscape, citing personal experience and the need for collaboration to enhance national security and customs operations efficiency.

“The military has always been a solid force. In order to copy well; we need to be in close contact as this would enable the college graduate regimented cadets for adequate representation”.

In response, the Commandant of the Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre, Air Vice Marshal Herbert Amesinlola, welcomed the delegation and expressed eagerness to collaborate on capacity-building initiatives.

He assured support for integrating beneficial courses and offered NAFRC’s assistance in furthering the partnership. He reiterated the Centre’s commitment to enhancing skills and knowledge transfer to remain relevant in their respective fields, fostering mutual growth and contributing to national security efforts.
