Kyrie Irving of the Brooklyn Nets may be back with his team again after the firestorm of controversy he started recently, but that doesn’t mean life is back to normal.

This latest controversy has left his future in the league in doubt and in limbo – and his business relationships have suffered too

On Monday, it was announced that Nike has officially ended its relationship with Irving.

This isn’t a shocking decision – just a few weeks ago Phil Knight suggested that this was coming.

Still, it shows just how much Irving’s actions have affected him, his business ventures, and what lies ahead for him.

Irving In The Future

Irving’s posting of an antisemitic film on his social media rattled the Nets and caused a suspension and some seriously bad headlines.

The All-Star champion sat out of the required games and completed the tasks handed down to him, which allowed him a chance to rejoin his team.

But we don’t know what’s next for Irving.

The latest controversy left a serious mark on Irving and most reports suggest that other teams no longer want to sign Irving when he becomes a free agent.

As for the Nets, some inside sources have said that the team is looking to part ways with him as soon as possible because he causes more headaches than he’s worth.

Will all of this blow over and will Irving eventually be able to get back in other teams’ good graces?

That remains to be seen.

For now, he’s just laying low and playing ball, averaging an impressive 24.4 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 4.4 assists a game.

Most importantly, he’s keeping his mouth shut.
