A total of 150 stranded Nigerians in the Republic of Niger were on 20th February 2023 repatriated back home by the Federal Government, in collaboration with ECOWAS and IOM.

The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Hajiya Sadiya Umar Faruq, represented by the Director of Humanitarian Services, Alhaji Grema Ali and the representative of the Director General NEMA, Dr. Nura Abdullahi received the returnees at Malam Aminu Kano International Airport.

The movement was facilitated by the Federal Government of Nigeria, Economic Community of West Africa and the IOM.
