WNDR Alpine, biotechnology company Checkerspot’s outdoor brand, is debuting the Phase Series activewear line with microalgae-derived high-performance materials. The performance, low-impact activewear line is a standout for its 100% petroleum-free wicking finish, miDori bioWick WA, which is powered by ingredients derived from microalgae.

Already, the brand has worked with microalgae oil in its skis and boards, and it worked with Beyond Surface Technologies to create this innovative textile finish to “move moisture away from an athlete’s skin to accelerate evaporation for better comfort.” This textile innovation offers the benefit of an 80% lower carbon footprint in comparison to a traditional wicking finish, all the while offering the same performance features active consumers know and expect.
