Amazon Games and Embracer Group have announced a new deal to develop and publish a massively multiplayer online (MMO) game based on The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien. The game will be an open-world adventure set in Middle-earth, featuring the stories of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings trilogy. The game is in early stages of production and will be released for PC and consoles.
The new MMO will be developed by Amazon Games Orange County studio, the makers of the popular MMO New World. The studio aims to bring a fresh take on The Lord of the Rings world and create an immersive and compelling experience for players. The game will be published globally by Amazon Games, which has also partnered with Embracer Group for other titles such as Tomb Raider and Lost Ark. The launch date and other details of the game will be revealed later.
