Livestock carrier Sarah M (IMO 7808463), built in 1979, has entered the Mediterranean and is cruising without a named destination after it was refused entry into an Irish port.

The vessel had been due to arrive at Greenore port on Ireland’s northeast coast on April 30th, to collect cattle for export.

However, the ship had recently been classed with the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping and so was subject to European Union sanctions. NGO Ethical Farming Ireland alerted the authorities to this fact, which resulted in the ship being barred from entering any Irish port.

1979-built, Antigua and Barbuda-flagged, 4,076 gt Sarah M is owned by Jounieh Bay Shipping SA care of manager DMS Lines SA of Ajaltoun, Lebanon. ISM manager is Fleetmed management SA of Piraeus, Greece.
