The overwhelming growth of the supplement industry is projected to continue to rise in the coming years. In 2021, the supplement market hit a record growth at a CAGR of 14.5%. Global health factors such as increased mortality rates, an aging population, and an at-risk global population caused the supplement business to grow. The health risks that arose during the COVID-19 pandemic also caused a rise in the supplement industry with a rise in household vitamin sales to 90%, and all ages and regions of the US showing a 74-75% use of supplements. 

Supplements do not always mean pre-workout powders and capsules. In fact, American adults consumed only 28% sports nutrition supplements in the past 12 months compared to 76% vitamins and 40% specialty supplements. 

Scientific backing for vitamins also fosters increased consumer confidence in products. Vitamins have been proven to slow the rate of brain shrinkage, improve physiological, cognitive, and functional outcomes, reduce injuries and improve performance during workouts.
