It was a historic moment for Lekki Port on Thursday, 6th April 2023, when the first commercial vessel berthed at Lekki Deep Sea Port, Lagos Free Zone, Ibeju Lekki, Lagos, marking the start of its commercial operations.

The vessel “GSL Alice” arrived from Europe through the Mediterranean Ocean at precisely 2.45 pm amidst excitement from the management and staff the Nigerian Ports Authority.

The Nigerian Ports Authority provided marine services for the vessel. The cargo was offloaded by the Port’s state-of-the-art Ship-to-Shore (STS) crane.

This major milestone which marks the official start of Operations at Lekki Port is truly a testament to the commitment of all the stakeholders who were involved in making this a reality, the Lagos free Zone tweeted.
