During annual festival 3 Days of Design, Danish brand Frama created a farmers-market exhibition at its Copenhagen headquarters to celebrate its focus on local communities.
The Il Mercato exhibition showcased Frama’s furniture and homeware in collaboration with Apotek 57 – the brand’s seasonal cafe – alongside fresh vegetables from non-profit farmers market Grønt Marked.
The exhibition, which took place inside Frama’s Copenhagen store in an old apothecary, aimed to highlight connections between Frama’s recent design launches, local produce and the marketplace.
“The kitchen is a place of nurturing and care where food is prepared with love and attention to detail,” said Frama founder Niels Strøyer Christophersen.
“The Il Mercato exhibition embraces our passion for local produce and represents a sense of togetherness and connection.”
A large wooden table inside the Frama store was curated in a minimalist tone with mushrooms, eggs, asparagus and other fresh produce from Grønt Marked, while its wood-panelled shelves were lined with vegetables pickled in glass jars.
Adjoining rooms at Frama showcased the brand’s latest furniture and homeware offerings.
Frama explained that the exhibition aimed to address food supply and global food infrastructure and highlight topics and issues surrounding public health and economic development.
“Through Il Mercato, Frama hopes to inspire visitors to make more conscious choices in their own lives by recognizing the value of buying, producing, and consuming locally, as well as reinforcing independent communities,” said the brand.
The vegetables used in the exhibition were also used for dishes in the brand’s cafe, and Frama gave some away to its neighbours.
The Copenhagen-based multi-disciplinary design brand creates, manufactures and sells furniture, homewares, lighting, skincare, scent and food.
This year marks the tenth anniversary of 3 Days of Design. Also taking place across the city of Copenhagen Ukurant turned a woodwork factory into an exhibition for emerging designers.
