The Casa Pátios de Pétalas is a house designed by Portuguese design studio Sandra Micaela Casinha Atelier. The home is defined by an organic shape that is adorned with floral petal looks. It is located in the Gondomar neighborhood just on the Eastern side of Porto and is made for a family with a young daughter. The inspiration behind the design is drawn from the natural environment and is translated through minimal design language.

The house has two levels and a glazed lower story detailed with timber slat shading. The upper story has fluid white walls that are meant to represent the look of petals. Sandra Casinha tells Dezeen that “The flower petals embrace the entire upper floor. To reinforce their presence, we limit the use to three materials: white [concrete], which draws the petals, aluminum, and glass. Thus, the petals gain more expression.”
