Carmelo Zappulla’s design studio External Reference was tapped to create a display for La Manso store located in Barcelona. Experimental jewelry designer Adriana Manso tapped the studio to create an unusual interior design concept for her first physical storefront. As a result, the studio creates 3D-printed shelving units that are inspired by Catalan-modern buildings to function as shelving in the store.

Zappulla explains to Dezeen, “Our design concept revolved around bringing the exterior facade inside, creating a melted and fluid background that would serve as an artistic canvas for showcasing the jewelry. By blending the expressive elements of Catalan modernism with the organic forms inspired by La Manso’s design, our goal was to craft a visually captivating environment that elevates the overall shopping experience.”
