Xbox Game Studios and Bethesda Softworks announced that the highly anticipate upcoming science fiction space exploration RPG titled ‘Starfield’ will be an official Xbox ‘Play Anywhere’ title. This means that customers who purchase the game either on Xbox Series or Microsoft Windows will receive a valid copy of the game on both platforms at no additional cost.

This move comes as Microsoft attempts to focus more on PC gaming and gaming accessibility due to the Xbox Series consoles being less popular than the company originally hoped for. Starfield is expected to be one of the largest first-party Xbox title releases in this gaming generation, as it is developed by Bethesda, most known for Elder Scrolls and Fallout, and is a large-budget, visually-stunning AAA adventure with hundreds of hours of potential gameplay.
