KTPocket officially announced that it has begun production on its upcoming ‘KT R1’ handheld console. Prototype units have been shipped to reviewers, and more information is available in regards to availability, pricing, and device configurations.

The KT R1 is equipped with a 6-core AmLogic S922X 1.8GHz CPU and the standard Mali-G52 GPU. This is combined with either 2GB, 4GB, or 8GB of RAM, based on the selected configuration, and a 4″ LCD touchscreen at a resolution of 800 x 600. The KT R1 is powered by a 5,000 MAh battery that results in upwards of 10 hours of battery life based on the intensity of the device’s load. Lastly, the KT R1 features full Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity for peripherals and online services.
