The new Zoom Avatars are the latest to hop onto the personalized realm of the digital space, inviting its users to create their own cartoons that represent themselves. Similar to Apple’s Memojis, the Zoom version also creates virtual characters that are able to mirror facial and bodily movements in real-time while on the call.
It adds a playful element that brings a fun energy to meetings as others are met with a cartoon iteration of users. Zoom speaks about the new features and notes that the avatars are simply a fun way to “project yourself dynamically” and also have a more engaging visual for others to talk to, especially when the camera is off and it only shows a static image.
