Cardinalstone Registrars Limited has alerted the public, especially shareholders, about a dubious promo being perpetrated by scammers in its name.
Indeed, the false promo, titled ‘Biggest NFT Giveaway’ has been widely distributed among shareholders of companies that Cardinalstone works for, soliciting participation in the scam which they gave the subtitle, ‘We are giving away NFT tokens’.
In the solicitation, with an originating email as [email protected], the scammers asked potential victims to provide some personal details that are reminiscent of the handiwork of hackers.
Part of solicitation, filled with grammatical errors, said: “Use this powerful giveaway to promote your NFTs, build awareness and grow your online community.
“With this easy campaign template you can give away some NFT freebies and let users unlock chances to win by completing valuable entry actions like:
- Entering their crypto wallet address
- Following you on Twitter
- Retweeting you
- Tweeting about your crypto
- Joining your Discord server
- Getting friends to enter your campaign
In its response, Cardinalstone Registrars Limited counseled those who received the mail to delete it immediately, while promising to do “doing everything possible to ensure the safety and security of our systems.”
Part of the company’s reaction read: “We have been informed that you may have received an email with the subject ‘NFT Giveaway’ from scammers pretending to work for us and trying to entice shareholders with fictitious giveaways. Kindly disregard and delete the email immediately.
