Canadian artist Charles Pachter is known for his iconic paintings of landscapes, moose, and Queen Elizabeth. He enlists design studio Firma to help create his new studio home, which also works as a museum as well. It is located in the heart of Toronto’s Chinatown and local architect Lia Maston helps create the look of the new space. The existing space was previously known as the Moose Factory, which is seemingly perfect for the artist.
Lia Maston talks about the new space and decoration, stating “We used Charles’ paintings as a departure point for the building’s design: his color palette of blues, the reductive simplicity of the form. Working with Charles pushed me to do something more interesting than usual, using art as a springboard.”
