Dezeen Showroom: British designer Deirdre Dyson has released a hand-knotted carpet collection named Angles, which features geometric patterns and bold colour combinations.

The collection includes ten carpet designs named Airborne, Clarity, Can-can, Tracks, Tension, Hover, Energy, Freedom, Akimbo and Staccato, which are informed by the interplay between shapes and colours.

Hover features abstract shapes, vibrant colours and contrasting materials

The brand’s carpets are Goodweave certified are made from high-quality Tibetan wool and silk, which are hand knotted by artisan weavers in Nepal.

The carpet collection aims to “celebrate all things geometric” and each individual design includes an interplay of linear shapes, which create a mixture of transparencies and depth.

Dyson used black lines to infuse an edgy feel into the neutrally-coloured Staccato

“I set myself the challenge of avoiding any curves and circles to see what could be achieved solely with angles,”’ said Deirdre Dyson. “All these designs were created with just a set square and a ruler.”

“Once I was happy with them, I concentrated on applying a variety of colours, using them to create a feeling of space and dimension,” continued Dyson.
