Air Astana has confirmed that it in addition to
increasing flights between Almaty and Beijing, the carrier will
also resume
flights between Kazakhstan’s capital city and Beijing next month.
Scheduled to take off on 18 March 2023, the
airline will initially operate two flights per week between Astana
(NQZ)
and Beijing Capital Airport (PEK) every Wednesday and Saturday, with plans to increase
the frequency for summer. The flights will be operated with Airbus
A321LR aircraft.
Air Astana will also increase the frequency of
flights between Almaty (ALA) and Beijing (PEK) to four times per week from 2
March 2023, with plans to further increase this to daily flights during
the summer season. The Almaty – Beijing service will be operated
with Airbus A321LR and Airbus A321neo aircraft.
“As we begin to navigate the summer
season, the airline is gradually increasing its capacity in China
to meet the growing demand of the country with the largest economy
and population,” said Adel Dauletbek, Vice President for Marketing
and Sales at Air Astana. “Our passengers have the opportunity to travel on
comfortable Airbus A321LR and A321neo aircraft. We are confident
that these flights will be in demand by passengers who are heading
to China for business, tourism and other purposes.”
Air Astana resumed flights to Beijing on 22
November 2022 after suspending operations with China in March 2020
due to the global pandemic.
From 2002 to 2020, the airline has transported more than 1,100,000
passengers between the two countries.
