The partnership between NIVEA and NaviLens will enable shoppers to easily scan the product with their smartphone, which will provide ample information about the product with large text and in an audible manner. This will work well for shoppers who have visual impairments due to a health condition or because of age-related issues. The QR codes on the packs are highly detectable and are capable of being scanned at more than 12-times the distance of traditional ones to aid shoppers in the aisle.
General Manager, Northern Europe at Beiersdorf Paul Price spoke on the new NIVEA gift packs with NaviLens technology saying, “We are delighted and honoured to be working with NaviLens. We have come to understand the challenges that visually impaired consumers may face when it comes to shopping. In particular, the busy stores in the buildup to the festive season can provide a sensory overload, making it extremely difficult to find gifts for friends and family. We hope that with the NaviLens technology and app, we can improve the shopping experience and allow people across the country to locate, understand and enjoy NIVEA products this festive season.”
