Thai coconut-rice pancakes, known as kanom krok in Thai, are one of the most popular Thai street food and now you can get them at your local Trader Joe’s in the form of the brand’s own Kanom Krok Thai Coconut Pancakes.
If you’ve been to Thailand, you’ve likely spotted kanom krok and their dome-shaped profile. Trader Joe’s has now managed to recreate the classic street food by working with a supplier in Thailand who uses a batter of coconut milk, rice flour, cane and coconut sugars, tapioca starch, rice bran oil, and sea salt to make the bite-sized pancakes. Shredded young coconut and taro root are also baked in to give the pancakes a little extra texture. All you need to do to enjoy the pancakes at home is heat them up in a microwave or air fryer and you’re good to go.
