Architecture studio Foster + Partners creates a cluster of buildings made from stone detail inspired by local villages. This can be found at a new terminal at Saudi Arabia’s Abha Airport. It is within the Aseer Province capital within the southwestern area of the country.
It features clusters that connect together along with captivating landscaped courtyards as a nod to the overarching visual theme of a village. Head of studio at Foster + Partners Stefan Behling states “This is a complete reinvention of the airport as we know it, with an emphasis on traditional Aseeri details, local materials and terraced landscaping. It is both a celebration of – and an introduction to – the beauty of the Aseer Region.”
