Air Canada has appointed John Di Bert as
Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, effective 1
July 2023.
John, who is currently Chief Financial Officer of
Clarios International, will succeed Amos Kazzaz who will retire
from Air Canada on 30 June 2023.
John will join Air Canada on 1 May to allow for an
effective transition.
“During his 13-year career at Air Canada, Amos has
held the two most senior financial roles, and has made a
tremendous contribution to the overall success of our company,”
said Michael Rousseau,
President and Chief Executive Officer of Air Canada. “Helped by Amos’ guidance and decisions, Air Canada has made
material progress in many areas, including fleet management, cost
reduction and efficiency, and business and strategic planning and
execution. He also played a leadership role in strengthening our
balance sheet and cash flow, positioning us to withstand COVID’s
impact and ensure we had the resilience to spring back quickly by
allowing us to invest for our future growth. Almost as much as his
financial and leadership skills, his sense of humour, energy level
and commitment will be missed by everyone at Air Canada, who all
join me in wishing Amos a long, happy retirement.”
John Di Bert has
extensive experience in senior leadership roles within the aerospace
and finance sectors.
He has served as CFO for both Bombardier and Pratt &
Whitney Canada, the latter of which he worked with for 14 years.
Earlier in his career, John worked
at Rolls-Royce Canada as Manager, Financial Accounting and
Reporting from 1999 to 2001 and at KPMG as Senior Auditor for
major clients including manufacturing, retail and distribution
companies from 1997 to 1999.
Hailing from Montréal, John is a chartered
accountant and holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Graduate Diploma
in Accountancy from Concordia University in Montréal, Canada.
