Marriott, in partnership with Robinsons Land
Corp, has expanded its portfolio of Westin hotels to Philippines,
with the opening of the Westin Manila in Mandaluyong City, Metro
Manila.
The opening marks a return to the country for
Westin which used to operate a popular resort by Manila Bay on the
city’s famous Roxas Boulevard. Accor took over management of the
property in 2006, rebranding it as the Sofitel Philippine Plaza
Manila.
The new Westin Manila
is situated in the Ortigas CBD in Mandaluyong, a gateway to
Metro Manila’s top corporate centers, shopping malls, healthcare
establishments as well as dining and entertainment hotspots.
The
hotel is located approximately 10 kilometers or about a 23-minute
drive from Ninoy Aquino International Airport, and a 10-minute
walk to the MRT3 Shaw Boulevard Station.
“We are thrilled to celebrate the
opening of The Westin Manila, marking the brand’s re-entry in
Philippines as well as another milestone in its expansion in
Asia-Pacific,” said Jennie Toh, Vice President of Brand Marketing
and Brand Management, Marriott International Asia-Pacific. “With
its signature programming, the new hotel will bring to life the
Westin brand promise that delivers a holistic wellness experience
for travelers and locals alike.”
The 32-storey hotel features 303
rooms including 57 suites. With views of the Metro Manila
skyline, rooms and suites
feature the brand’s iconic Heavenly Bed, Nespresso coffee machines,
bluetooth speakers,
complimentary Wi-Fi, and 55-inch flat Samsung TVs.
Guests staying
in the Westin Club rooms and suites, which feature separate living
rooms, can also enjoy access to the exclusive Club Lounge which
serves afternoon tea, hors d’oeuvres, and evening cocktails.
Facilities at the hotel include four F&B outlets;
a 24/7 fitness studio with a complete range of modern
cardio, resistance and TRX stability equipment; a 25-meter outdoor pool;
a pool
deck; dedicated kids’ pool for families; and a total of 1,063
square meters of meeting and function space, including the Sonata
Ballroom which features seven-meter high ceilings and a built-in
LED wall. A spa is scheduled to open in June 2023.
The RunWestin program
offers curated run route maps with a choice of three or five-mile
runs, along with guided runs to explore the destination led by the
property Run Concierge.
Also, available in-room, on-demand, the
next-generation WestinWorkout Gear Lending program allows guests
to borrow the latest high-tech recovery and total body strength
training equipment to optimize their fitness while they travel.
“Located in the
vibrant heart of Metro Manila, guests will have all they need for
a productive and relaxing stay in the city,” said Alexander
Dietzsch, General Manager, The Westin Manila. “We look forward to
welcoming guests to a new world of personalized wellness with our
signature Westin guest experiences.”
