If you want to eat like a local, Someburger is the spot. This iconic eatery has been serving up some of the best Texan burgers in Houston since 1955, earning it a spot for one of the oldest burger joints in Houston. But, what makes a Texan burger a Texan burger?
Legend has it that the first hamburger was created by Uncle Fletcher Davis in a small cafe over in Athens, Texas back in the 1880s. Years later, Uncle Fletch took his new creation to the World’s Fair in St. Louis in 1904 where it earned the name “hamburger,” a nod to a similar dish frequently found in Hamburg, Germany.
