This information comes from data on ICT usage and e-commerce in enterprises published by Eurostat today. The article presents a handful of findings from the more detailed Statistics Explained article on ICT security in enterprises.

The most common security measure used by enterprises was strong password authentication (84%), followed by data backup to a separate location (79%) and network access control (65%). The least common measure was authentication via biometric methods (18%).

Looking at national level, the highest share of enterprises which used at least 3 ICT security measures were registered in Finland (93%), followed by Denmark (90%), the Netherlands and Germany (both 87%). By contrast, enterprises in Greece (52%), Bulgaria and Romania (both 53%) reported the lowest share.
