The Dallas Cowboys are playing like one of the best teams in the NFL.
With a record of 8-3, no team looks more dangerous than the Cowboys ever since Dak Prescott returned in Week 7.
The Cowboys have been the top offense in the NFL since Week 7, along with having an elite defense.
There are still plenty of games to be played in the regular season as the Cowboys try to chase down the NFC East crown.
Outside of the star players in Dallas, many others have stepped up and contributed.
Here are two surprise Cowboys players that are playing at a high level this season.
Dorance Armstrong, Defensive Line
One of the strongest units on the Cowboys’ roster is their defensive line.
They have so many players that can get after the passer, which is why they lead the NFL in sacks.

One of those unsung heroes has been Dorance Armstrong.
The 25-year-old is having a career year, with his 8.0 sacks being a career-high.
With Micah Parsons and DeMarcus Lawrence rushing on the edges, Armstrong has taken advantage of his one-on-one looks inside.
Dallas will need Armstrong to continue playing at a high level to keep the pressure on opposing offenses.
Leighton Vander Esch, Linebacker
Another player who has played well for the Cowboys on defense this season has been Leighton Vander Esch.
The former first-round pick is playing this season on a one-year contract and has increased his value.
Vander Esch has been a steady force on defense this year and someone the Cowboys can rely on.
He leads the team in tackles with 75 and has played in every game.
Having consistent linebacker play is important for a successful defense, and the Cowboys have that in Vander Esch.
