Sheraton Minneapolis West Hotel / Booking.com

Address: 12201 Ridgedale Drive, Minnetonka, MN 55305

The Sheraton Minneapolis West hotel enjoys close proximity to the Ridgedale Mall and major highways connecting downtown Minneapolis to Minnetonka. I’ve actually booked a long weekend here on a random staycation, and like pretty much every other Sheraton I’ve ever had the good fortune to stay in, it was just lovely.

I love the Sheraton aesthetic, the onsite restaurant serves top-notch food, the beds are just right for my back (I’ve got a lot of time for the Sheraton brand mattress). It’s very quiet, despite being a stone’s throw from a major highway.

Plus, it’s got bike rentals, an indoor pool, and a hot tub, and it’s one of the best pet-friendly hotels in the area. If you’re visiting Minnetonka but want a little bit of peace whilst still being able to get into Minneapolis in a jiffy, this is for you.

9. The Hotel Landing, Wayzata

The Hotel Landing / Booking.com

Address: 925 Lake St E, Wayzata, MN 55391

The Hotel Landing is one of the most luxurious and popular hotels near Lake Minnetonka. Decor-wise, it’s a real stunner, giving a blend of modern, industrial, and Great Gatsby vibes.

There’s free parking and bike rental, and it’s steps away from the historic sites of downtown Wayzata. I heartily recommend checking out Wayzata, especially the bridge.

Hotel Ivy, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Minneapolis / Booking.com

Address: 201 South 11th Street, Downtown Minneapolis, Minneapolis, MN 55403

The Hotel Ivy, a Luxury Collection Hotel in Minneapolis, is one of my favorite hotels in Minnesota. Therefore, I feel it deserves a place on this list, despite not being a 20-minute drive from Minnetonka. It’s pretty much a straight shot – and a 20-minute drive is a small sacrifice for luxury such as this!

It is a great option if you want to stay in Minneapolis but have easy access to the Lake Minnetonka area. You’ll find yourself in the same neighborhood as the Guthrie Theatre and U.S. Bank Stadium, as well as a ton of great restaurants.

Some of the hotel’s standout features include its beautiful art collection, its wonderful restaurants, and its luxurious spa. The beds are sublime, but the real MVP here is jumping in the soaker tubs after a long day of fishing or ice skating on Lake Minnetonka.
