Hong Kong Air Cargo has launched a new
freighter service between Hong Kong and Sydney, Australia.
The airline will operate the route
between Hong Kong and Sydney with thrice weekly flights using Airbus A330-200F aircraft.
“We will continue to expand our
route network and improve our service to serve our customers,”
said William Chan, Director of Government and Public Affairs, Hong
Kong Air Cargo. “As
the global market recovers from the pandemic, it is important for
us to focus on what we do well and respond to our customer’s needs
whilst ensuring that we strengthen Hong Kong’s position as the
international cargo hub.”
In 2021, Hong Kong Air Cargo received approval to
operate flights to nine new destinations, Sydney being one of
them.
The new service will allow customers the opportunity to
streamline cargo consignments originating from the airline’s
current route network via its hub in Hong Kong to Australia.
Launched in 2017, Hong Kong Air Cargo currently
operates flights to the following 14 destinations: Almaty,
Bangkok, Dhaka, Hangzhou, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh (Saigon), Istanbul,
Kuala Lumpur, Shanghai, Singapore, Taipei, Sydney, Tokyo and
Zhengzhou, with over 200 staff and a fleet of five Airbus
A330-200F aircraft.
