The Delta State Government has approved the release of N674 million for bursary payments to support students from Delta State studying in 195 institutions across Nigeria for the 2022/2023 academic session.
This decision was made on Wednesday during a meeting of the Delta State Executive Council chaired by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
Dr. Ifeanyi Osuoza, the State Commissioner for Information, announced the approval of funds for the 2022/2023 Students Assistance Scheme (Bursary) during a briefing with journalists following the meeting.
According to the State Commissioner for Higher Education, Prof. Nyerovwo Tonukari, the approved sum would support 30,116 students for the specified academic session, with preparations underway for subsequent disbursements.
This initiative, according to a statement, underscores Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s dedication to promoting education and easing financial burdens for students and families across Delta State.
