The Global Sustainable Tourism Council’s annual
conference (GSTC2023) will this year take place in Antalya, Türkiye
from 9-12 May.
Each year the conference takes place in a different country, bringing
together tourism stakeholders involved in the development and
promotion of sustainable travel and tourism.
The GSTC2023 conference
will host approximately 400 international and local participants in Antalya,
including representatives from the public sector, hotels, tour
operators, companies, academia, development agencies, online
travel agencies and non-governmental organizations.
The four-day
program – which includes training, interactive panels and
workshops, meetings and social events – will feature four key
themes:
– Destination Stewardship;
– Hotel Sustainability;
–
Sustainable Tours, Experiences, and Attractions; and
–
Sustainable MICE.
Each theme will offer insights and
practical solutions to promote sustainable practices in tourism,
while highlighting the importance of responsible management of
natural and cultural resources, supporting local communities, and
achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

Sustainability, TUI Musement, TUI Group; and
– Figen Ayan,
President, MedCruise / Chief Port Officer, Galataport Istanbul.
Located in southern Türkiye, in the heart of
the Mediterranean and the Turkish Riviera, Antalya welcomes thousands of tourists
who flock there annually for adventure, culture, art and entertainment,
as well as the obvious sea, sand and sun.
The conference series held online for two
consecutive years due to the pandemic, took place in Seville,
Spain last year.
