Aeroflot has resumed scheduled flights to three
cities in Kazakhstan, will launch flights to Beijing Daxing
International Airport in China on 15 February and increase its
Shanghai service on 16 February.
The Russian airline is now operating Airbus A320
flights to Astana, Almaty and Atyrau.
Aeroflot is operating double daily services to
Kazakhstan’s capital Astana, thrice daily services to Almaty and
two flights per week Atyrau flights on Wednesdays and Saturdays
with a third weekly flight scheduled to take off in March on
Mondays.
Before this month, flights between Moscow and
Kazakhstan were operated by Rossiya Airlines which is part of
the Aeroflot Group.
From 15 February, Aeroflot will begin operating
thrice weekly
flights from Sheremetyevo (SVO) Terminal C to Beijing Daxing
International Airport (PKX) using Boeing 777 widebody aircraft.
Beijing Daxing International Airport opened in
September 2019 and is one of the world’s largest airports and the
city’s second international airport after Beijing Capital. It has
been designed to handle up to 100 million passengers by 2040 and
cost approximately US$11 billion to build. The airport is
well-connected with Beijing city center through high-speed
railway, a metro line and an extensive bus network.
Aeroflot has also confirmed that it will increase
the frequency of flights to Shanghai to thrice weekly using Boeing
777 aircraft.
